• PortAventura -- Spain's biggest theme park is a huge hit with all members of the family. Filled to the brim with fun rides, including rollercoasters and water-themed adventures, there's a little something for everyone. And, when you start getting tired, you can pop into one of the many restaurants and cafes found in the park to refuel and prepare yourself for the next ride.
• Bonavista Market -- There are plenty of local markets along the Costa Dorada, but the Bonavista Market is the biggest by far. Taking place on a Sunday morning, it's ideal for gift buying or simply browsing the stalls of handmade goods, clothes, art, and food. It's also a great way to get to know the local lifestyle of the area, and watch the hustle and bustle of daily life.
• Day Trip to Barcelona -- At just an hour's journey away, Barcelona makes for the perfect day trip if you're on the hunt for some serious cultural experiences. Here, you can explore the work of Gaudi, pop into museums, sit back and enjoy tapas in the numerous plazas, and get to know one of the most exciting cities in the world.
• Aquopolis Waterpark -- If the thrill of PortAventura isn't enough for you, head to the Aquopolis Waterpark for fun in the sun. Here, there are plenty of water rides to get stuck into, as well as themed pools, cafes and restaurants. There are also a number of live animal shows throughout the day for all the family to enjoy.

The Weather in La Pineda

Based on the Mediterranean Coast, La Pineda enjoys a warm climate throughout the year -- particularly in the summer months.

During peak season, you can expect temperatures to level out between 28 degrees Celsius and 32 degrees Celsius. It's also particularly dry, with long, sunny days perfect for exploring. The beaches are very pleasant, too, with sea temperatures resting at around 23 degrees Celsius in the summer months. This makes the gentle waves ideal for swimming and water sports -- of which there are plenty of opportunities throughout the resort.

La Pineda Accommodation

Because it's primarily a beach resort for summer holidays, La Pineda accommodation is made up of resort-style hotels that boast their own pools and activities. There are also a number of studio blocks around town that offer great views and a more independent way to explore everything on offer. In addition, you might find a budget hostel or two around, as well as a handful of traditional guesthouses and smaller, boutique hotels that offer a glimpse into the region's rich heritage.

Getting to La Pineda

Because it's just an hour from Barcelona and its airport, La Pineda is really easy to get to. Firstly, there's a bus that travels directly from the airport terminals to La Pineda, stopping off at some other great coastal resorts along the way. The buses leave regularly, but there are usually more in the peak summer months.

Alternatively, you can hire a taxi or a transfer from outside the airport. The journey time is around an hour depending on the time of day you travel. Prices vary depending on your final destination in La Pineda and the traffic, but they are usually very affordable and you get to see some of the great scenery along the way.

One of the best ways to get to La Pineda, though, is by hiring a car from the airport. This gives you ample time to explore at your own pace and stop off at cute towns and villages along the way.
