It is one of the largest museums in the world; its building, an old power station of 35,000 square meters, is really impressive inside and outside, and crossing it is an exciting experience. Another good reason to visit this place is that it is free (except for some temporary exhibitions).

Among many other things, at the Tate Modern you can find works of 20th century European artists such as Georges Braque, Pablo Picasso and Paul Klee. You will find both, permanent collections and many temporal exhibitions, in addition to performances, and contemporary installations of short duration. • St. Paul's Cathedral. This construction, one of the most important in London, is one of the most important cathedrals in the world. Dedicated to the apostle Paul (St. Paul, in English), it was built in the late seventeenth century in English Baroque style. It draws attention mainly for its large dome, which defines the London view from great distances. It is 111 meters high and is one of the tallest buildings in the city. This cathedral, together with the Westminster Abbey, was the place where important royal services were developed. Prince Charles and Lady Di married in this church.
  • Millennium Bridge. Just in front of the Tate Modern, and in tune with its contemporary style, the "Millennium Bridge" is a pedestrian crossing over the Thames. As its name indicates, it was inaugurated in the year 2000.
  • National Theatre. Together with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal Opera House, it is one of the most important theatre companies in England. It was founded in 1963 and it currently has its home next to the River Thames, in the centre of London. A must for lovers of the performing arts.

  • Monument to the Great Fire of London. Known simply as "the Monument", it is an imposing column in Doric style that recalls the worst fire in the history of London, occurred in 1666. It is more than sixty meters high and is located at the site where the fire allegedly began. It is possible to access the monument by climbing a staircase of 311 steps and appreciate the view from the top.
