Round log cabin, built in 1991 and located in a peaceful and private location near the fell Soutajatunturi.
On the ground floor kitchen, bedroom with two beds 80200 cm, sauna (electric sauna stove), washroom and open porch. In addition, sleeping loft (steep stairs), with 2 box springs, 80200 cm. No child gate.
There is an oven in the yard that can be used for grilling too. Soutajan Kuksa, as its Finnish name tells, is located near the fell Soutajatunturi. The nearest ski trail is 500 meters away, there is a total of about 150 km of ski trails in Pyhä-Luosto area. The Pyhä ski resort is about 3.5 km away, the North slope (Pohjoisrinne) is about 2.8 km. The Luosto ski resort is about 20 km away. There is Amethyst Spa in connection with Lapland Hotel Luostotunturi.
The hiking trails of Pyhä-Luosto National Park are 3.5 km away. Along the trail networks you can hike in the summer, e.g. to Finland's deepest gorge, Isokuru, where you can see the breathtaking Pyhänkasteenputous waterfall. Along the hiking trails, it is possible to reach Pyhä-Luosto's highest fell, Noitatunturi, which is 540 m high. Some of the hiking trails are also mountain biking trails, and Pyhä has several companies that rent mountain bikes and fat bikes. From near the cabin, there is access to the Soutaja cycling route, which goes around Pyhäjärvi village. Along the way you can reach the summit of the fell Soutajatunturi if you wish. Note, you can't get to the summit by bike, you have to leave the bike at Soutaja’s hut.
Around 15 km towards Luosto is the Lampivaara amethyst mine. It is a place worth visiting, where visitors can dig for themselves lucky amethyst as a souvenir and finally enjoy coffee in the Lampivaara cafe.
