Raahenmaja is a well-equipped, wilderness-themed kelo-log cabin situated in the heart of Saariselkä tourist center, suitable for larger groups or multiple families vacationing together!
It offers space for up to 22 people and provides sleeping places and tableware for all. There are 8 bedrooms available, ranging in capacity from 1 to 4 people. Three of them have sofa beds and normal beds, two have two single beds, two have bunk beds, and one has a double bed. Each bedroom is equipped with a small refrigerator.
The cabin offers excellent kitchen, dining, and cold storage facilities. There are separate living and fireplace rooms, each with own fireplace and TV. Spacious sauna area with timer-controlled electric sauna stove is also available. Four WCs, one includes a shower cubicle. Technical room with two electric drying cabinets, drying rack, washing machine, and tumble dryer.
Outside, there is an outbuilding with a ski maintenance space and firewood storage. The parking places with wall outlets are also outside near the cabin. Raahenmaja's location near Urho Kekkonen National Park in the center of Saariselkä is excellent; ski trails, hiking trails, and snowmobile routes are right behind the cabin. Shops and bus stops are within a 10-min walk.
During the winter, you can also go ice fishing. There are several fishy lakes just a few kilometers away. You can rent a snowmobile and explore the surrounding snowmobile routes. In the winter, you might see the Northern Lights in the sky, too.
During the summer, Raahenmaja offers excellent opportunities for berry and mushroom picking, hiking, and fishing. Access to cycling routes is easy as well.
