Great rooms, washing facilities in the room were a great help!

Great room and service. Parking was available for extra cost but worth it as most of restaurants were within walking range.

The rooms here are clean and spacious, and include a well-stocked kitchen plus dining room, roomy couch in the living area and very comfortable bed. There’s even a washing machine in the bathroom. The accommodation is nestled amongst a leafy garden setting and there’s ample secure parking for an extra cost. There’s plenty of eating places within walking distance.

I regularly stay in the sister hotel Majestic Minima across the street, the apartments at Majestic Old Lion are certainly a step up. The area around Melbourne Street North Adelaide is really a great place to base yourself when you're staying in Adelaide.

Lots of room. Beds comfortable. Nice kitchen. Restaurants, grocery store within walking distance. Botanical gardens access via free city connector bus.

Good place to stay

The room was clean and comfortable. I reported that the Wifi didn’t work for our 2-3 day stay, and the Safe Box didn't work either. Plus, the iron although it worked perfectly, leaked water onto the carpet. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful.

What great place to stay, lovely part of the city. The place, location and amenities from the hotel, are great. I reckon, that is is good, if in reception, tell us a bit more about the facilities, very simple like, the spare bed is ready, it is in the sofa,.....or the internet requires to open a browser,...they are few things that are simple , bot not straight forward for my, teen age daughter. What a place looking forward to stay again in the future.

Very happy with the service and room

I got two phone calls regarding my stay before hand and i asked for parking both times then when i had to go and pick the key up at another location they had a not saying i needed parking but there was no fob there for me to use the parking!

Not what it was 5 years ago

Majestic Lion was always my go-to for work trips to Adelaide pre-pandemic, but i've since not stayed for ~5 years. Whilst lovely grounds and looks great from the outside, it is starting to feel a little dated in the room - same room I stayed in previously - and the cleanliness was questionable (toilet had dried urine from prior guest, odour from the bathroom drain). I'm back in ADL again before end of year but have changed my booking. It is still a great spot, and they provide some great rates, but i've opted to upgrade for the next stay.

Easy access with a car

Always a great place to stay . Well equipped and convenient and very clean and comfortable. Only criticism is that the toaster needs to be a 4 slice …. When accommodating 4 people .

Everything is good except the kitchen. Kitchen light is very dim. Electrical Stove take forever to cook. Only can cook very simple food. Although many kitchen cabinets n relatively big fridge provided, useless because the stove is hopeless n is like cooking in the dark cave.

Overnight stay

Great location.great room size. Clean and comfortable. Quite well equipped. Overall pretty happy.would stay again.. need arrival/reception instructions ahead Some stairs to room. lighting in kitchen/table area could be better.

Convenient

Central location is convenient. Lovely, helpful staff & good amenities, though the decor/ carpets need updating.

The staff were fantastic and friendly detailed instructions for late check in and options provided. The apartment itself was clean and well presented how ever some of the amenities where severely outdated, three power points where not operational and all found right behind the main bed head for hard access. The bathroom shower is very bad minimal water out out and the toilet very cramped. Overall the stay was great but needs some tlc

Great spot. We really only needed a bed for the night but it would be an ideal place to stay with a family. Loved that we didn’t have to walk far to get a delicious meal.

Very useful having kitchen/cooking facilities, though having more than 3 each of utensils would have been nice.

Odd room layout

Stayed in Annexe room, for two. There was a large desk/table in bedroom, only one bedside table with desk type lamp on, desk/table had bedside light on, had to more it close to bed to use bedside light. TV high up on wall in sitting area, no light/lamp near couch. A bit more attention to detail in the cleaning of front of cupboards and edges in kitchen area required.

Great spot with many local options at a reasonable price. Walkable to city and Botanical Gardens or zoo. Confidante bed and pillows. Good shower and amenities.

Booked a 1 bedroom apartment arrived very early the lady checked us in to a 3 bedroom apartment

We have been staying at Old Lion each year for 10 years. When travelling to Adelaide it feels like our home away from home. Comfortable, clean and convenient. The apartments are spacious and fit our family perfectly. Easy parking and close to ammenities, transport and the CBD. No doubt we will continue travelling back, and look forward to it each time

Great spot been here many times before always a peaceful stay.

Great little apartment. Maybe a few more TV options or an apple TV/google TV so that you can stream your own. Car Park is a little tight for larger vehicles but other than that absolutely perfect. Great dining options close by and nice walking options. Easy walk to city and transport.

Excellent accommodation & service 1st clasd

We always like staying at the Lion Apartments because it’s in such a good location. The service is always friendly, the apartments are spacious, and the beds are comfortable. We will definitely be back.

Booked online and paid online ... link advised parking with price then told $15 to park at property or park on the road for free?? Lines in room had a stale smell ... pillows were to large and hard so not easy to sleep. Will properly not stay again

Apartment was spacious extremely comfortable well heated fully fitted kitchen quality fitting throughout.

Property was clean and very well presented, close to shops cafes and restaurants. Easy parking.

Really good apartment besides the poor phone reception and the lack of wifi.

It was really clean, warm and comfortable. My only feedback is the lack of a smart tv in the apartment....the existing television option is very outdated. Otherwise, very good, would return.

The old world charm of the buildings were lovely. The apartment was very spacious and clean. Having a fully equipped kitchen was great and laundry facilities in the apartment. The only thing that would be nice to have added is a hand towel in the bathroom

No majesty in the Majestic. From the dust webs to the vinyl headboard the place is a mess and sort of reminded us Prisoner Cell Block H. Expensive for what you get I've had better cabins ... it would of been nice if they had notified us before arriving they they were throwing a columbian marching band block party it's the only reason that the Gather round party was fuelled til 1:30 am with their 3rd rate loud DJ. The footy was secondary as their band played through the game with some terrible covers played over a PA system borrowed from Port. No INXS thank god. If you have the misfortune to need a hotel room for a night or two like we did I would implore you to find a park bench it will have more ammenities and be as comfortable as the beds.

Absolutely spotless!!!! Very comfortable bed and couch. Quiet (unless you count the birds chirping). Free city bus stops out front (both directions). Fabulous restaurants and cafes within a five minute walk. Cheerful and helpfull staff. Small downside - no chest of drawers. What didn't hang--up stayed in suitcase.

Bit disappointing

In a great location this slightly tired property offers a quirky layout that would confuse most guests. Unfortunately they don’t have a 24 hour reception so late arrivals need to check in at a sister property in Tyne St. To do this you’ll need a car as the distance between the check in location and the Lion aren’t walking distance especially at night. Stayed in a downstairs room. Lots of footstep noise from room above made for a disturbed sleep. Look elsewhere close by as there are better options.

Never disappointed when I stay here. All facilities are great, room upgrade was a surprise and much appreciated. Staff were very helpful when I had a special request. Will stay here again.

Great accommodation option, only thing we found was the one air con in living room not effective for cooling all the rooms, and no fans so was rather hot night.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, though the layout of our apartment wasn't ideal for the weather conditions - very hot overnight, air con was in the lounge facing opposite direction to the bedrooms, so it was hard to cool the bedrooms and had to sleep with bedroom doors open to have any air circulating, which limits privacy; the wardrobes? were also a bit awkward, limiting access around the bed. Also unable to access the free WiFi. If staying again, will remember to request a ground floor apartment.

Very comfortable place to stay which also has many restaurants close by, free city link bus and free adequate street parking.

A lovely cosy and comfortable self contained apartment. We loved our stay. Clean and quiet - and the apartment had all that we needed. Friendly staff and secure parking. Great value for money and very centrally located. Highly recommend and we will stay again!

Check in staff were very friendly. Easy process to check in and receive keys. Hotel room was clean and tidy. The only issue we had was a crack in the ceiling which leaked water when it rained on one of the days. Parking downstairs for $15 was definitely worth it.

Die Hotelanlage ist ein richtiger Hingucker. Die Ausstattung der Wohnung war sehr gut, auch alles sauber. Zu Fuß sind etliche Restaurants erreichbar. Das Empfangspersonal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt.

We enjoyed our stay, the location was great. Nice clean apartments & friendly staff. We did have some noisy neighbours who we could hear through the wall at 10.30pm and the key to the car park was very difficult to get to work.

We liked the location, the service was good and accommodating to our needs when we had to stay longer at short notice.

Spacious hotel with lots of cafes nearby

Communication was poor. We ask 3 times on separate occasions to have 2 apartments together and was told that would be fine. It did not happen. When we spoke to them about this they were very dismissive toward us. It is a great place to stay but was disappointed with the communication.

Great place to stay however the communication was poor, spoken with three seperate people on three different occasions for our two rooms to be next door or in the same building. The request was completely ignored with no apology. Pretty disappointed. Facilities and location was great though.
