Apartments near the Guell Park in Barcelona: accommodation in the best location

The Park Güell is, without doubt, the most emblematic open space of the city of Barcelona. In it, the nature and architectural creations of the Catalan artist Antoni Gaudí merge into a unique composition in the world. The park is located in the El Carmelo neighbourhood (or, in Catalan, El Carmel), on the highest part of the hill, in Barcelona. After climbing the steep stairs, you will reach the glorious complex.

The park was the idea of Eusebi Güell, who entrusted his design to the renowned modernist Gaudí, whose works today are one of the main tourist attractions of Barcelona. The park was built more than a hundred years ago, between 1900 and 1914, and it was officially opened in 1926. It is considered as World Heritage, by UNESCO, along with other works by the Catalan artist. The merging of architecture with nature is ideal for a work by Gaudí, who had also designed the Sagrada Familia. He found much of his inspiration in the organic elements of nature.

One of the pieces that stand out in this splendid park is the mosaic known as "the dragon" ("el drac", in Catalan). It is located at the entrance of the park. It represents a salamander with Mediterranean colours. The highest points of the park offer complete views of the city, where you can see the Sagrada Familia and all the great structures of Barcelona.

Inside the park you can enjoy a wide variety of exotic birds, plants and corners specially designed to enjoy nature.
