Apartments in Playa del Carmen: Sunny Accommodations

Playa del Carmen is in the Rivera Maya. It is located in the southeast of Mexico, to the south of Cancun in the Yucatán Peninsula, in the Caribbean Ocean. With a tropical climate and average temperature of 32 degrees Celsius, it's one of the world's most visited beach-cities. In pre-Hispanic times its name was Xaman Há, which means Water of the North, and it was the point of departure for the Mayans heading off to Ixchel, in Cozumel. Spaniards didn't settle in this area because it was a jungle full of pests, diseases and mosquitos, typical of the tropics, which decimated the non-native population. Its settlement and colonization is recent, dating back to the early-20th century when the Mexican mining company of gummy resin from the gum tree installed themselves, which in those years was very prosperous.
Playa del Carmen apartments – Festivals and Events in Playa del Carmen

Until the mid-80s it was still a beach for Mexican people and eccentric Europeans. The boom began in the mid-90s and today it is known internationally as the paradise of the Caribbean . Because of the excesses that were affecting the environment, serious measures were taken to ensure that no bottles, cigarette butts and other trash ended up thrown in the sand or in the sea. Drinking in the streets is also banned. Near the coastline is Fifth Avenue, the busiest street with a safe pedestrian walkway that is 4--kilometers-long and spans from street 1 to street 40. You can find everything you could want here such as shopping, craft shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. There is also a more bohemian area, which extends from Constituyentes Avenue. Because of its international character, the cuisine comes from all over the world, although Mexican cuisine is preferred for its strong flavors and use of fresh seafood. Not everything is beach, sun and parties in Playa del Carmen. Nearby there are interesting archaeological sites full of legends; just remember in 2012 how worried people were around the world about the Mayan calendar's prediction of the end of the world. It's very interesting to learn about their cosmogony and realize that there is another way of understanding our presence in the cosmos. If you want to experience wild nature, the Sian Ka'an biosphere reserve park goffers guided tours. If you have already decided that your next trip will be to the Rivera Maya, don't forget to rent one of our apartments in Playa del Carmen and live harmoniously with the cosmos and nature.
