Apartments in Peñiscola: Historic accommodations

Apartments in Peñiscola – Accommodation in Peñiscola

Peñiscola is a municipality in the province of Valencia, in the lower Ebro, known as the Azahar Coast whose origin dates back to 1707. One of the wonders of this region is its warm climate all year round. The city is located on a rocky peninsula that runs into the sea, connected to land by a sandy stretch. The historic center and Castle of Pope Luna can be found at the top of the rock, built by the Templar Knights in 1307, which stylistically corresponds to the late Romantic period and in whose narrow streets you can still find craft markets that trade handicrafts and antiques. The Walls that Felipe II commissioned Giovanni Battista Antonelli to build during the sixteenth century are another attraction for those who love history. The Natural Park of Sierra de Irta is ideal for hikers; you can explore its 15 coves and look out at the Mediterranean sea from its cliffs. The port, under the castle and next to one of the beach areas, turns into an attraction in the evening with the arrival of fresh products collected from the sea You can find all of this here as well as horse drawn carriages and a little train. A tradition is for travellers to drink "Pope Luna's tisane", a medieval drink that saved Pope Luna from being poisoned in 1418 and is served at any café or restaurant. Dare yourself to relive history, to taste the cuisine, to see the beaches and scenery. Don't forget to rent one of our Peñiscola apartments, you'll find yourself exactly where you want to be.
