Arriving in Paris -- From the Airport to the City Centre

Paris is predominantly served by two airports, the Aeroport d'Orly and Aeroport Roissy Charles de Gaulle, both of which have efficient and frequent connections to the city centre. There is also the Aeroport de Beauvais which lies further away and caters for budget airlines.

From Orly, which is located 18km from the centre of Paris, you can hop on the shuttle bus, take the metro, or grab a train into the city. From Roissy Charles de Gaulle, which lies 30km to the north of Paris, you can get a train from the airport station which is linked to the terminals via a free shuttle bus, or hop in one of the many taxis that wait outside the building. Beauvais airport is slightly trickier. Situated 75km north of Paris, you'll need to get a train into the city centre.

Many people arrive in Paris via cross-country train services from neighbouring countries, as well as via the Eurostar from the UK. All overland journeys into the city terminate at the main, central station, Gare du Nord. No matter where you are coming from you can find Paris apartments in any area you like

Public Transport in Paris

Paris is extremely user friendly, with fast, efficient, and reliable transport systems that span the entire city and beyond. The metro service is one of the easiest to navigate in Europe, with numerous lines and stops covering all the major attractions and more. There is also a tight network of buses which provide a more scenic route through the city, though roads can often get clogged up by traffic.

Most of the hotspots in the city lie within a short distance of each other, so you can choose to walk from place to place, admiring the architecture and charm of Paris as you go. If you get tired, you can always hop onto one of the sightseeing buses which regularly take visitors from one major attraction to the next.
