Ljubljana Accommodation

The city's increasingly youthful vibe means Ljubljana accommodation consists mainly of trendy boutique hotels and lively hostels, but there are also plenty of high-end hotels to choose from, too. Guest houses also provide a popular place to stay in the historic part of the city, whilst numerous apartments dotted around offer unique and independent accommodation options.

Do as the Locals Do in Ljubljana

Life is laidback and easy in Ljubljana, with a youthful atmosphere that is filled with quirky culture and fun ways to pass the time. Follow the lead of the locals and get around the city by bike, one of the best ways to explore. The historic centre of the city of off-limits for cars, so cycling is a great way to take it all in quickly.

If you get a little thirsty on your travels, duck into one of the many craft beer bars that are popping up all over the city. This new phenomenon is proving to be hugely popular for both locals and tourists alike, and it's the perfect way to sample some of Slovenia's local flavours. The best part? In many of the bars you can grab some tapas nibbles to keep the hunger at bay. If you're looking for a more substantial meal, though, check out the street food that you can find all around the city. Grab a handheld snack and continue exploring.

As evening falls, you'll want to head to Metelkova, a part of the city that has been transformed from military barracks into a lively nightlife venue. Here, you'll find plenty of hipster bars and clubs decorated in a shabby chic style set against a backdrop of colourful street art.

End the evening in one of our Ljubljana apartments, which provide the perfect place to unwind after a busy day.

How to Get Around Ljubljana

Here, everything is within easy walking distance, or you can hop in a cab if you have lots of luggage.

Alternatively, you can get a private transfer from the airport or grab a taxi from outside the terminals. The drive into town is quick and takes in some breath-taking scenery along the way.

Once you're in Ljubljana, it's unlikely you'll need to use any public transport unless you're looking to take day trips to nearby attractions.
