Apartments in the Costa Brava: Accommodation under the sun

Apartments in the Costa Brava – Accommodation in the Costa Brava

The Costa Brava refers to the coastline starting in Sa Palomera, in Blanes, and ending in Portbou, on the border with France. Its name was made popular by Ferrán Agullo, in an interview published by La Veu de Catalunya, where he described the beauty of the wild, rocky and rugged coastline that had captivated Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Dalí and Rusiñol. A Mediterranean climate with high temperatures in summer and mild in winter, with warm waters and dreamy places, this piece of Cataluña is the most visited in Spain. It is the birthplace of Ferran Adrià's cutting edge cuisine, which placed Cala Montjoi in the international circuit of food enthusiasts. There are 30 music festivals annually and museums that stimulate culture enthusiasts, as well as history-laden places, archaeological treasures and well maintained architectural heritage. When it comes to leisure there is no competition. Bars, restaurants, beach bars, nightclubs, beaches, traditional festivals and excursions are just some of the offerings that the Costa Brava has for you. If you love sports, there is a wide range of water activities you can enjoy as well as hiking. So if you've planned to visit the Costa Brava, we recommend that you take a look at the best offers, you will surely decide to rent from our collection of Costa Brava apartments, because of their inexpensive prices and wide variety.

Places to go in the Costa Brava

  • Gerona is crossed by the Güell, Galligants, Oñar and Ter Rivers. Among the architectural gems you can find is the Paseo de la Muralla built in the ninth century and the Cathedral with the widest gothic style nave in the world. El Call, the best preserved Jewish quarter in the world, is built out of stone and consists of a maze of narrow streets in a medieval style. And the Casas del Oñar located on the river bearing the same name, won Gerona the label of being nicknamed "little Venice". The Rambla de la Libertad, built in a medieval Gothic style, is at the entrance to the Old District and is Gerona's busiest street. There you can find restaurants, shops, cafes, and a wide range of entertaining places to visit. If you wish to learn more about the city, you can do so by renting a bicycle from Girocleta, the public bike service.
  • Lloret / Lloret de Mar is more than just soft sandy beaches, it's an area rich in archaeological remains from the Iberian and Roman eras. Montbarbat, el Turó de Rodó and Puig de Castellet are the remains of the Iberian settlement. Josep Carner, Catalan poet, immortalized Lloret with the name of "gentle paradise", which has been confirmed by visitors. Its landscapes, the hospitality of its inhabitants, water sports, the submarine ride across the bay, hiking, great food and a large variety of restaurants will make you feel like you're in paradise. And for those calmer days, the medieval castle of San Juan and the gardens of Santa Clotilde are a great alternative.
  • Tossa / Tossa del Mar, named by Marc Chagall as the "Blue Paradise", attracted Hollywood's attention in 1950 for the filming of "Pandora and the Flying Dutchman" with James Mason and Ava Gadner, who, among fishers, drinks and the sea, fell in love with the bullfighter Mario Cabré. The film wasn't a success however it changed Tossa's destiny.
  • Blanes is a beautiful town with white houses, terracotta roofs, blue sea and lots of green vegetation. Marmimurtra and Pinya de Rosa are two botanical gardens, which can be accessed in a small train called a "carrilet". Sa Palomera is a small island that marks the entry into the Costa Brava, an obligatory stop for visitors. The Church of Santa Marta and the Castle of San Juan are places to visit for those who are intrigued by mysticism.
  • At L'Escala you can find remains of the Greco-Roman city of Ampuria, a point of attraction for those who like archaeology. There are well kept beaches and coves with showers. However, if you go to Riells Beach, don't bring your cigarettes, it's the first smoke free beach in all of Europe. The boardwalk is dedicated to Saint-Exupery and is a wonderful place to stop at in the afternoon.
  • The Medas Islands in Estartit are ideal for diving. The Roca Maura, at the back of the city, has excursions and the ascent is only five minutes from the center. The famous Santa Ana de Estartit Church is a place to meditate. And for eating and drinking, there is the Rosamar restaurant on the Paseo Marítimo 45, or the typical bars and little cafes with a Mediterranean ambience.
  • Roses is known internationally for El Bulli at the Montjoi cove. The famous deconstructive chef Ferrán Adria created the restaurant, which transformed Roses into a renowned spot. Thanks to him, presidents, artists, journalists and movie stars have come and promoted the Mirador de Santa Rosa de Puig Rom, as well as the Bufalaranya and Trinidad Castles.
  • Playa De Aro, an old fishing town on the Costa Brava is known for its Doll Museum, where 350 dolls are brought together from all different times. There is the Benedormiens Castle, which today is a museum, as well as beaches and different activities planned to stimulate tourism and its landscapes.

Our apartments on the Costa Brava are close to all of these places, where life is a dream. In addition, they are all charming, well located and equipped with everything you need so that nothing can stop you from enjoying these holidays in one of the best tourist areas of the world.

How to get to the Costa Brava

The Gerona-Costa Brava airport is located 12 kilometers and 25 minutes from the center of the city. The buses reach Plaza España and the trip costs €2.50 per person. The two bus lines leave from outside of the arrival terminal and the tickets are bought inside the terminal and are valid for 30 days. There are various buses that can take you to Lloret de Mar or Tossa de Mar. There is also a shuttle system, however the prices are higher.

There is no taxi service from the airport, you must request one from a public telephone located inside of the airport.
