Apartments in Salzburg -- Affordable Accommodation Options

Salzburg looks like it's just stepped out of a storybook, with intricate castles casting sultry silhouettes and beautiful pine forests surrounding the city. The Sound of Music and Mozart aren't the only thing Salzburg boasts -- in fact, there is so much to see and do, from a top-notch art scene to fusion restaurants, picturesque parks, and theatre houses that pay homage to the city's vast musical history. All of this is tucked away beneath a towering cliff-top fortress that watches over the city and the beautiful Salzach River from the silky mountains that lie beyond. Our Salzburg apartments soak up all the culture and charm on offer in this incredible part of Austria, giving you easy access to the stunning scenery and the thriving arts scene.

Scenic Ways to Get to Salzburg from the Airport

Getting to the city centre and our Salzburg apartments from the airport is easy thanks to an efficient public transport system. Buses run every ten minutes from the airport to the city's central bus station, and there are trains that travel this route, too, at a slightly higher price. The scenery as you come into Salzburg is spectacular, so make sure you grab a window seat.

There are also plenty of taxis parked outside the terminals, and the journey into the city centre is both quick and relatively affordable. This gives you the perfect opportunity to soak up the views on the way whilst getting dropped straight at your door.

Apartments in Salzburg – Salzburg Accommodation

Be Moved by Mozart in Salzburg

Mozart is Salzburg's most famous son, and the scenery surrounding the city served as ample inspiration for the world-renowned musician. It is well worth exploring the city through Mozart's eyes whilst you're there by visiting a few attractions that are dedicated to his music and life.

Mozart Wohnhaus was, at one point in time, Mozart's residence, and today it boasts numerous family portraits, documents, and instruments that once belonged to him. As you tour the building you'll get to listen to some of the musician's work via an audio guide and you can pop into the Mozart-Ton-und Filmsammlung archive which houses over 25,000 audiovisual recordings relating to Mozart.

For an overview of Mozart's life and love of music, head to Mozarts Geburtshaus, a museum that is housed in the townhouse where Mozart was born. Here you can wander through the vast collection of instruments and documents and even clap eyes on a lock of his hair and some buttons from his jacket.

In the evening head to Stiftskeller, one of the oldest restaurants in Europe that regularly holds Mozart evenings. You can tuck into a delicious three-course meal served in candlelight whilst listening to some of Mozart's most famous pieces. It's a true 18th century experience and leaves you feeling closer to Salzburg's most famous son.

Salzburg Accommodation

Salzburg accommodation reflects the city's expansive and cultural history, with plenty of boutique hotels tucked away down winding side streets and with views over the stunning scenery. Luxury hotels offer a taste of the high life that Salzburg was once known for, whilst casual hostels and guesthouses give you the chance to enjoy the younger vibe that Salzburg oozes today. One of the best ways to explore the city at your own pace is to check into one of the many apartments that span the city. From designer pads to authentic studio apartments, there is something to suit every occasion. If there's one thing you can be certain of, though, it's that you will have incredible views and easy access to all the city has to offer wherever you choose to stay.
