The nearest airport to Siena is Florence Airport, though it's easy to get to the city centre from the airport. Firstly, you'll need to take the shuttle bus or a taxi to the central Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station. The shuttle bus is the cheaper option and it leaves every thirty minutes throughout the day. From there, you can get the train into the heart of Siena, which takes just under two hours.

Alternatively, you can hire a car which is a popular option for those looking to explore the area surrounding Siena, too. You can pick up your ride at the airport and drive the scenic route into Siena. Once you're there, you have easy access to the surrounding regions, which offer beautiful day trips.
