Making Your Way to Maspalomas

Getting to Maspalomas from Las Palmas airport is easy thanks to a range of public and private transport options. Firstly, you can get the bus. You'll have to take the airport bus into Las Palmas city centre, which runs every 20 minutes, and from there you can get the bus to Playa del Ingles which leaves every hour. This is a great way to see some of the beautiful coastal scenery along the way, and it's also the cheapest option.

Alternatively, you can hop in a taxi or grab a shuttle service from the airport terminals. This will take you directly to your door, with journey times varying depending on what time of day you're travelling and your final destination.

One of the most popular ways to get into town, though, is to hire a car at the airport. This means you can make your own way along the coast to Maspalmoas and soak up some of the lesser-known scenery along the way. It also means you'll have easy access to transport during your trip, so you can venture out on your own and explore the beautiful scenery that surrounds Maspalomas and its beaches.

  • Aqualand Maspalomas -- This huge water park is filled to the brim with fun water rides, flumes, and themed swimming pools for the perfect fun day out for all the family. When you're not splashing about in the shallows, you can indulge in some sea lion shows and other quirky performances.
  • Palmitos Park -- A 20-hectare spread of land that's packed full of exotic plant species. The subtropical landscape is ideal for taking a walk through, and there's also an aviary, a botanical garden, numerous walkways, and dolphin shows to enjoy.
  • Botanical Park of Maspalomas -- The botanical park is a flurry of beautiful flowers, both native species and those from further afield. Here, you can wander through the expertly manicured gardens and learn more about the natural life of the area.
  • Holiday World Maspalomas -- This theme park is a firm favourite for families in Maspalomas. Filled with hair-raising rides, a traditional fun fair, and daily shows, it's a great place to while away a few hours.
  • Antiguedades Triana -- If you're on the hunt for some souvenirs to take home with you, head to Antiguedades Triana, a charming little shop that sells a range of locally made goods and antiques from around the region.
  • Faro de Maspalomas -- This lighthouse sits on a stretch of rocky land by the beach and is surrounded by great shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes. Head here when darkness falls to experience the area come to life.
  • Playa de Maspalomas -- The beach of Maspalomas is the most popular place for tourists in the resort. As well as sprawling sands perfect for sunbathing and swimming, there is also a stretch of otherworldly sand dunes to check out.

The placement of the lagoon looks like a mirage in the desert, and it's a definite must see during your time there.
