Maspalomas brings together the beach resorts of Playa del Ingles, Aguila, Las Burras, and San Agustin on Gran Canaria. The lush stretch of coastline is the biggest draw for tourists, who flock to the shores in the summer months to soak up the incredible weather and even better sea views. Maspalomas is well known for its jaw-dropping sand dunes, too, which were declared a National Park in 1994. The dunes lead out into shallow waters for a tropical landscape like nowhere else in the world. Away from the beach, there are plenty of shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes to enjoy, as well as a selection of activities for all the family to get stuck into. The fun atmosphere and beautiful scenery of Maspalomas make it the perfect place for a holiday, and our apartments in Maspalomas are the ideal hubs to explore it from.
Getting to Maspalomas from Las Palmas airport is easy thanks to a range of public and private transport options. Firstly, you can get the bus. You'll have to take the airport bus into Las Palmas city centre, which runs every 20 minutes, and from there you can get the bus to Playa del Ingles which leaves every hour. This is a great way to see some of the beautiful coastal scenery along the way, and it's also the cheapest option.
Alternatively, you can hop in a taxi or grab a shuttle service from the airport terminals. This will take you directly to your door, with journey times varying depending on what time of day you're travelling and your final destination.
One of the most popular ways to get into town, though, is to hire a car at the airport. This means you can make your own way along the coast to Maspalmoas and soak up some of the lesser-known scenery along the way. It also means you'll have easy access to transport during your trip, so you can venture out on your own and explore the beautiful scenery that surrounds Maspalomas and its beaches.
Maspalomas definitely isn't a one trick pony. In fact, there is tons to do in the resort, from fun theme parks and hiking trails, to relaxing botanical gardens and high-end shopping experiences. Make sure you check into one of our Maspalomas apartments, which can be found near all of the major attractions.
Because it's so popular with tourists who come for the beaches, Maspalomas accommodation mainly consists of high-rise hotels that overlook the beach. These resort-style accommodations have their own pools, restaurants, and activities to enjoy, as well as all-inclusive deals and sea views. Otherwise, there are plenty of self-catering studio blocks dotted around the beach, giving you easy access to the sea and other major attractions. Further away from the shore, you'll find a collection of guesthouses and smaller boutique hotels that cater to a smaller audience, as well as a few hostels perfect for budget travellers. One of the best ways to explore Maspalomas though, is by checking into your own spacious apartment, where you can create your own itinerary based on your personal interests.
As well as the major tourist attractions, Maspalomas has a handful of other great things to see and do, many of which take in the beautiful natural scenery and the vibrant personality of the resort. Our Maspalomas apartments are dotted all around town, so you're bound to find a great activity right on your doorstep.
Firstly, you can visit El Oasis , which sits at the edge of the National Park made up of surreal sand dunes. As well as El Oasis, this area is also home to La Charca. This incredible natural hotspot is a sea-water lagoon edged with palm trees, and it is the resting place of many migratory birds who are on their way to Africa. The placement of the lagoon looks like a mirage in the desert, and it's a definite must see during your time there.
Then, as well as Aqualand and Holiday World, there are a couple of other fun days out for the family, including Sioux City , which is a Wild West themed park filled with rides, and Mundo Aborigen, a fascinating cultural place that showcases the social history of the area.
