Sa Pobla is in the district of Raiguer on Majorca, a municipality in the northeast of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands. Its mild climate, with hot summers and pleasant winters, has turned it into a reference point for those who love good weather. Its name in Catalan, sa Pobla, means "La Puebla" and in 1315 it was founded as "Pobla de Huyalfas", meaning water in the meadow in Arabic, due to its location in an area rich in agricultural production. Another aspect of the tourism industry is the wide variety of activities, among which are bicycle tours, hiking, bird watching and visits to archaeological sites. One of the main attractions of sa Pobla is the Natural Park S'Albufera, which reaches Muro, where you can find the greatest diversity of flora and wildlife in all of the Baleares. At the park you can go on day trips, guided tours, observe the flora and wildlife or take scenic pictures.   • The Claper des Gegant , also known as Talaiot de s'Heretat, is one of the most important archaeological sites in all of Spain. It consists of stone buildings with circular, rectangular and oval rooms, surrounded by a wall with several portals and other constructions. The site is located on private property, however it can be accessed at certain scheduled times.
  • The S'Albufera national park is a biosphere reserve and ideal place for enjoying nature. It was the first natural park in the Balearic Islands. There is an enormous diversity of species with more than 230 different types of birds. We can also find eels, mackerel, sea bass, reptiles and micro fauna. For bird watching professionals or enthusiasts, there is a list and map in the park's reception.
  • The oratory of the Santa Margalida de Crestatx Church, the oldest of the island, dates back to the thirteenth century and is located in the Crestatx Valley. In the church's vicinity there is parking, gardens and a good restaurant.
  • The Ethnographic Museum of Sant Antoni and Dimoni, located in Can Planes, is an old mansion that was remodeled in 1998, which also serves as a Contemporary Art Museum with important works from Majorcan artists.
  • The local festivals are an interesting event for travellers. One of the most popular is celebrated in San Antoni in January, which tourists from all over Cataluña attend. For these festivals the Town Hall of sa Pobla organizes endless public activities for both children and adults.

  • The tapas bar called Toni Cotxer is another culinary prodigy. It was founded over a century ago by the Cotxer family who have "felanitxeres" roots. How to get to sa Pobla

The Palma de Majorca airport is located 49.8 kilometers from sa Pobla. It takes 1 hour and 43 minutes if you travel by the number 330 bus, which can be taken from the airport's exit.

You can also go by taxi, which are located at the exit of the arrival gate and they take approximately 33 minutes to arrive at your destination. Don't forget to agree on the price before getting in. Finally, there is always the option of renting a car from the airport to travel at your own pace.
