This means there are plenty of high-end restaurants, luxury bars, and trendy cafes to enjoy around the perimeter of the city centre. To soak up the Spanish sun and enjoy a city that's both a beachside hotspot and a cultural gem, check into one of our Nerja apartments.

Adventure Activities in Nerja

Nerja is very much a peaceful beachside hotspot, but if you're looking for a bit of adventure to spice up your trip there are plenty of things you can do.

Sea kayaking is hugely popular along this stretch of coastline, giving visitors the chance to explore the region and its spectacular scenery from a different perspective. From Burriana Beach, you can paddle your way around jutting cliff faces and past hidden coves to Maro. It's an exceptional way to get to know more about the natural side of the area and it's a firm favourite outdoor activity for adventure lovers.

For a land-based adventure, try hiking up El Cielo. This is the highest coastal mountain in the region and has a tangle of hiking trails that crisscross around it. A hike to the top exposes you to incredible views across the undulating landscape and out across the glistening ocean. You might even be able to see all the way to Malaga and the North African coastline on clear days.

Keeping with the hiking theme, you can also hike up the Chillar River. This is a popular route for families, as it offers a cooler alternative to the mountain hikes and revels beautiful scenery along the way.

Base yourself in our Nerja apartments, from which you can explore every side to the city -- from the historic old centre, to the lush beaches, and the adventurous activities.

Nerja lies about 65km from Malaga Airport, and there are a number of ways you can travel from there to the city centre. Taxis are a popular option, with plenty of stands outside the airport. The journey is quick and takes you past some incredible scenery, but it's definitely not the cheapest option.
