Empuriabrava isn't like its fellow towns along the Costa Brava. Instead of oozing traditional Catalan vibes and introducing a new tapas bar around every twist and turn, Empuriabrava offers a high-end tourist destination with a luxury harbour and a vibrant nightlife to go with it. It's also unusual in its layout, too, with 24km of canals spidering out through the town and more than 5,000 private jetties dotted around. In fact, it is the largest residential marina in the entire world, making it the perfect place for the elite masses to congregate in the summer months. Here, you can trade sunbathing for star-watching and sangria in a family-run restaurant for cocktails in a new-age harbourside bar. If you want to explore the finer points of the town, check into our apartments in Empuriabrava, which offer spectacular views of the canals and marina, and offer an insight into the luxurious way of living that dominates the area.
As well as these major attractions, Empuriabrava has a range of low-key places to visit around the town, from great restaurants and bars to designer shops and laidback cafes. Our Empuriabrava apartments give you first-hand access to all the great things in the town, so you can kick back and enjoy your trip.
Empuriabrava has a taste for adventure. The glitzy marina backdrop and the glorious Costa Brava coast make it the perfect place to get your adrenalin pumping, and there are a range of activities that can do just that.
Skydiving is popular in Empuriabrava, where you can soar over the network of canals and discover the beautiful shoreline from a whole new perspective. For the even more adventurous, you can try freeflying, where you don a wingsuit and glide through the air without any help.
If you like things on ground level, you can get down and dirty with some off-road motorcycling in the stunning scenery that surrounds Empuriabrava, or simply mountain bike along the crisscross of routes and trails through the countryside.
Out at sea there's even more to do, with windsurfing, kitesurfing, boating, and kayaking proving to be popular activities in Empuriabrava.
Get your heart rate back to normal in our cosy selection of Empuriabrava apartments, which are both budget friendly and incredibly stylish.
Empuriabrava was made for perfect days. Start by having breakfast in one of the trendy cafes in the marina, or even hire a boat to take you out to sea where you can indulge in breakfast in a different way.
Afterwards, it's time to hit the beach. Empuriabrava is home to two long stretchs of sandy shoreline that are never too busy. Here, you can kick back and relax with a book, take a dip in the warm Mediterranean Sea, enjoy some water sports, and cool off in one of the many beach bars.
In the afternoon you might want to browse around the shops. Empuriabrava has a collection of boutique stores, as well as local designer shops and markets that are packed away along the series of canals.
As the sun begins to set, it's time to choose somewhere to tuck into a hearty, Catalan dinner. The food in this region is incredibly varied, with plenty of fish, fresh vegetables, and olive. Try the local anchovies from L'Escala down the road, tuck into Escudella I Carn D'olla, a vegetable broth with pork, chicken, and veal, or Pa Amb Tomaquet, a simple dish of rustic bread rubbed with tomatoes.
After dinner, it's time to check out the incredible night life in Empuriabrava, where high-end clubs open their doors to the town's elite clientele.
