Apartments in Castelldefels -- Boutique holiday rentals

Castelldefels is tucked away between the impressive massif of Garraf and the Mediterranean Sea. It's a hub of beach life, with more than 5km of sprawling sands along this stretch of coastline, all of which is backed up by incredible mountain views. What's more, Castelldefels is just a short journey away from the bustle of Barcelona and its airport, making it the perfect place to take a relaxing break. Castelldefels' excellent positioning means it's great for water sports in the stylish marina, including -- but definitely not limited to -- canoeing in the canal that was made for the 1992 Olympics. As well as sunny coastline, Castelldefels also boasts a rich arty heritage and an ancient narrative that spans back to Medieval times. Get to know this beautiful area with one of our Castelldefels apartments. We have a range of stylish accommodation that allows you to explore the region at your own, leisurely pace.

A Slice of Historic Life: Centuries-Old Culture in Castelldefels

Thanks to its vantage point in between the mountains and the ocean, Castelldefels has had a rich and interesting history that's still visible in the architecture and narratives of the town.

On the coastal strip that separates the Garraf Massif and Barcelona, the Castle of Fels sits proudly with an intricate Romanesque design. To the south of the castle, you'll find the chapel with a cemetery and courtyard. Leading up to the castle there's a labyrinth of laneways, which you can wander through and discover the beautiful flowers and plants that dominate the area.

Elsewhere there's the Church of Santa Maria, a small parish church that belongs to the castle. Architect Enric Sagnier designed the new church which began being built in 1903. You can marvel at its Latin-inspired layout and the impressive interior murals by Serrasanta.

Across the landscape there are twelve watchtowers that hark back to Castelldefel's medieval days in the 16th century. During this time, pirates from the Barbary Coast were consistently trying to attack and take over the Iberian Peninsula, so the watchtowers were built to ensure they were kept at bay. It's worth noting that most of the watchtowers are now privately owned and are, therefore, not open to visitors.

Keen culture and history buffs might want to explore the Orange Route in Castelldefels, which takes visitors on a journey through the area's history and cultural heritage. Along the way you'll discover the Palau Novella , the Castle and Chapel, and catch a glimpse of the 12 watchtowers. You'll also get to see the picturesque farms of Cal Ganxo , Can Vinader , and Can Gomar, and even marvel at some of the newer buildings in the town.

Our Castelldefels apartments are the perfect place to stay if you want to explore the historic charm of the town.
