Apartments in Benidorm -- Cheap Places to Stay

Benidorm is a haven of tourism, but is still harbours some traditional strands of Spanish life. Alongside its wide sandy beaches lined with high-rise developments, numerous Bingo halls, lively karaoke bars, and English-speaking eateries, you'll find the old town set back on a hill between two stretches of sand. A high platform that was once home to an historic castle offers perfect sunset views, whilst the winding streets take you a million miles away from the touristy hotspots. But Benidorm's most convincing personality trait is its dedication to fun. With several water and amusement parks surrounding it, it throws itself well and truly into providing a trip to remember. There are lots of different places to stay in the town, but our Benidorm apartments offer a unique way to explore.

Fun for all the Family - Things to do in Benidorm

Because it's predominantly a seaside resort, Benidorm accommodation is mostly a mix of high-rise hotels that line the beach and seafront self-catering apartments. The town is known for its large collection of hotels and is even home to the tallest hotel in Europe. If high-rise rooms aren't what you're after though, there are a number of guesthouses, B&Bs, and hostels in the winding streets of the old town. Alternatively, you can opt to stay in one of the many comfortable apartments and stylish studios throughout the town, which provide an independent base from which you can explore the town and everything it has to offer.

The Best Cultural Sights in Benidorm

Despite its reputation as a party hotspot, Benidorm is home to a collection of great cultural attractions and sites. For starters there's El Tossal de La Cala, which can be found at the end of Poniente beach. This ancient Iberian settlement was first used between the 3rd and 1st Century BC and is imbued with plenty of ancient stories.

The Maritime Cultural Center offers an insight into the town's maritime history. At one point in time, Benidorm was an important port and the museum documents its past through nautical exhibits, manuscripts that recall sea voyages by Benidorm seamen, and other objects and artefacts relating this this part of the town's history.

For an architectural gem, head to San Jaime Church which boasts a beautiful blue-tiled roof that dates back to the 18th century. Dedicated to the patron saint of Benidorm, it can be found overlooking the old town. As well as showcasing an impressive exterior, the inside is home to the statue of the Virgen del Sufragio who sits in her own little chapel.

To get an overview of Benidorm in all its glory, head up to the Balcon del Mediterraneo, which sits at the top of the old town. It was originally built to protect the town from Algerian pirate raids in the 14th, 15th, and 16th centuries, but today it offers incredible views, particularly at sunset.
