Tourists flock to the wide beaches here in the summer months, picking out uninterrupted spots to kick back and relax, but there's also a hefty dose of culture that imbues the resort, including delightful Canarian cuisine and a laidback lifestyle that's famous in this part of the world. After a day spent soaking up everything on offer, head back to one of our Costa Adeje apartments, where you can enjoy your own space in the heart of the resort.

Beachside things to do in Costa Adeje

The beach makes up such a huge part of Costa Adeje, and it is the most popular place for tourists, especially during the warm summer months. And, with a whole host of activities to enjoy by the sea, there's enough to keep you busy for your whole trip.

  • Playa del Duque -- This rugged beach is the star of Costa Adeje, with sprawling sands, fun palm trees, and a selection of great facilities to enjoy. As well as incredible sea views, there are lots of boat tours and water sports opportunities on this stretch of sand.
  • Playa Fanabe -- Another of Costa Adeje's beaches, this coastal area is surrounded by craggy rocks and palms trees, giving it an otherworldly, tropical vibe. Like Playa del Duque, there are tons of facilities, including restaurants, bars, and cafes.
  • Scuba Diving and Snorkeling -- The clear waters around Costa Adeje make it the perfect place to explore the underwater world through scuba diving or snorkeling. By doing this, you can get up close and personal with the island's vibrant marine life and get to know the area from a completely different perspective.
  • Playa del Bobo -- Though smaller than Costa Adeje's other beaches, Playa del Bobo doesn't skimp on fun and attractions. Here, there are a number of restaurants and cafes to enjoy the sea view from, and the smaller dimensions mean it's less busy.
  • Playa Blanca -- One of the calmest stretches of sand on Costa Adeje, boasting incredibly calm, blue waters, and an unusual, craggy coastline perfect for walks and sunbathing.
  • Swim with Dolphins -- This is one of the most popular activities in Costa Adeje, giving you the chance to experience this incredible, once-in-a-lifetime activity.
  • Water Sports -- There are plenty of water sports to get stuck into around Costa Adeje, including paragliding, jet skiing, wakeboarding, surfing, and boating.
  • Whale Watching -- As well as swimming with dolphins, you can also head out to sea and scour the horizon for some of nature's most beautiful giants.

Our selection of apartments in Costa Adeje span the length of the beaches, so you're always within close proximity of the sand and sea.

Costa Adeje Away From the Beaches

But though the beaches prove to be popular, there are plenty of other activities to get stuck into elsewhere in the resort.

If you're looking to explore a different side to the resort, head to the local market which takes place on Saturdays and Thursdays. Here, you can browse stalls filled with hard-carved ornaments, clothes, toys, knickknacks, books, and art. It's fairly touristy, but you can find some gems hidden away. And, if you get tired, you can grab a coffee at one of the cafes in the surrounding streets.

The more adventurous travellers might want to head to Mount Teide after dark. This 4,000m high volcano is the highest point in Spain, and it's a popular place for hikers, bikers, and walkers to explore the scenery and enjoy spectacular views. You can discover it by day or, alternatively, head there to watch the sunset and enjoy the stars coming to life over the breath-taking views.

For a taste of local culture, head to La Caleta, a charming little fishing village just along the coast. Here, you can watch fishermen bringing in their daily catches and tuck into some grilled fish that's cooked up on the beach. As well as trying some local delicacies, you can also browse the selection of artisan shops that line the streets, and soak up the hustle and bustle of local life.

Walkers will want to check out the Barranco del Infierno, which is set just in land from Costa Adeje. This two-hour walk takes hikers past steep ravines, through fairytale woodland scenery, and through unusual rock formations. If you keep your eyes peeled, you might be able to catch a glimpse of a lizard and other native species.

When you've had a long day exploring, come back to one of our Costa Adeje apartments and relax.

Cruising Along the Coast to Costa Adeje

Getting from Tenerife's south airport to Costa Adeje is easy thanks to the network of public transport and abundance of taxis. You can hop on the coastal bus from the airport which stops off at all the major resorts along the way, or you can grab a taxi from outside the terminals. Journey times and prices vary depending on the time of day you're travelling and your final destination.

Alternatively, you can hire a car from the airport, which means you can travel into Costa Adeje at your own pace and explore the surrounding region during your trip.
