On one side, there are lush beaches that sprawl out in every direction, leading into calm waters, and on the other there is a gorgeous backdrop of mountain scenery. Along the beach front there is a typical tourist vibe, with plenty of cafes, restaurants, and bars to get stuck into. Head further inland, though, to the old town, and you'll discover a charming place filled with whitewashed buildings that perch on velvet hilltops over the ocean. As well as a handful of cultural activities to enjoy, Altea is a haven for beach lovers thanks to its endless selection of sandy shores. Here, you can kick back and relax, take a swim, or try your hand at some adrenalin-pumping water sports.
